This blog is a collection of random ramblings by a youth baseball umpire, Donny Brusca.
If
you're looking for expert guidance on umpiring, you'll need to look
elsewhere. I've only started umpiring professionally in 2014, so I
consider myself a newbie. But I know the sport well, having played
organized baseball, and having followed my beloved Mets, since 1972.
And I still play men's softball when I can, as an infielder for the
Staten Island Dodgers.
But even with all this baseball
experience, my role as an umpire is new, challenging, and a lot of fun.
This blog is just a way to share this fun. And hopefully to learn a lot from more veteran umpires.
I'd love comments from any readers, but especially experienced umpires!
